(Panic Room) Thriller Trailer
This is a very dramatic movie trailer consisting of conventional elements that make it very clear to the audience it is a thriller. What makes it so simple and effective is that most of the trailer is filmed within one house the (panic room). Within this one location where there is total darkness and sudden flashes of light when something occurs. They use many different camera shots throughout the trailer from long shots that set the scene and give us an insight of the location and then sudden close ups occur which make your heart throbb in horror. Sudden changes and cut shots to different scenes keeps everyone on their toes almost expecting something to happen. Another podominant feature used is sound effects. More importantley basic techniques like doors slamming shut and telephones ringing randomly create a nervy feeling of tension (simple but effective techniques). Echoey sounds and deep breathing yet again are simple solutions to create abit of unease. The use of slow motion camera shots keep us waiting on the edge of out seats as things go silent and sudden blasts of flames and cielings coming down whilst people are whispering in the backgrounds (Whos behind all this???).
