TERMINATOR SALVATION

The image itself is the central theme of the magazine which advertises the film. It's very centralised covering most of the front page. The colours of the image which are black and red interlink with the colour of the text used which represent the thriller genre of film. There are also several smaller images on the top left hand side which give us an insight of what the movies about and highlighting key actors within the film further attract the audiences. The images are aligned and bordered to contrast with the main image.

The title of the film is in bold capital letters at the top of the page easy to read. At the bottom of the page in bold white letters it says 'THEY'RE BACK'! This adds to the theme of the film making us want to find out more. The barcode as usual is at the bottom of the page not contrasting with the image or text.

Its a very simple design and the image itself is main attraction rather thran the text.

HIDE AND SEEK TRAILER

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9uEkTPchIo

Made of about 65 different shots this trailer lasts just over 2 minutes. The first few shots used are aerial shots which set the scene giving us an insight of the location and where everything is going to be set. Following this is the introduction of the main charachters giving us close-ups of who they are and what types of roles they may play. The little girl in particular is very convincing in her acting as simple techniques are used to enhance the level of tension which builds. For example holding her doll, keeping it beside her with close ups of it. With many horror/thriller's dolls and little girls create a funny feeling which is quite bizzare but it works. Her innocent face with wide big eyes and pale look, creaping out on key scenes catch your attention. Sudden flashes as she appears!

The part where the father is walking towards the bathroom and snatches the curtains away and there is writing with blood all over the wall 'YOU LET HER DIE' this is very creepy but yet again simple to do. Alot of the trailer is in darkness in a large mansion where things begin to unfold. natural sounds of screaming and horrified looks of charachters further build the tension. Throughout the trailer very little texts is used mainly towards the end.

HIDE AND SEEK POSTER

This hide and seek poster uses very simple dark colours such as black and red to give it a serious look portraying its thriller/horror genre. The clever thing here is that the white font is used to highlight key areas such as the title of the film and the date its coming out. Large bold font styles are used at the top of the poster giving us an insight of what the films about. The names of 'ROBERT DENIRO' and 'DAKOTA FANNING' are labelled on either side of the title encouraging the audience to recognise who stars in the film advertising it through the famous stars making people want to watch it. The text itself is not aligned and spreads throughout the page. All the extras like people who participate in making the film are mentioned below as a reference rather than overlook the main theme of the poster which is the image itself.

The image used in this poster is simple but very effective. A long shot showing half the girls body through a long corridor gives it a 'eery' look of suspense. Reflecting on the words COME OUT COME OUT the image itself shows the girl peeking out one eye looking upon us. The lighting on the door coming out of the room reflects the girls figure and shows the surrounding area through the long corridor. the image is in the centre of the poster as this is the key feature eye catchy and simple. A plain black background maintains a stern look of darkness bringing everything together.
